Increase in Court Fees

Increase in Court Fees

As from the 1st July 2013 the Fees charged by the Courts for the issuing and handling of applications in both the Civil and Family Courts has increased.

In the case of divorce petitions there are transitional arrangements in relation to divorce petitions issued before 1st July but that have not reached the stage of Decree Absloute. The fee of £45 remains payable to convert the Decree Nisi to Decree Absolute.

For all petitions issued after 1st July there is now a one off fee of £410, as opposed to two separate fees, one at the time of issue of the petition, and one at the time of Decree Absolute.

We tried to post a link to the new fees here, but if you try to access the form on the Justice website it comes up with a security warning on the link, so the best we can suggest is that you type EX50 into your search engine, which is the leaflet produced by the Court Service and which sets out the fees payable. Sorry....we did try...
